Membership Categories and Criteria



Member (Full voting rights):

At the time of application, applicants should be employed in an administrative professional position which shall be defined as one who possesses a mastery of office skills, who demonstrates the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, who exercises initiative and judgement and who makes decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

 

This category also includes teachers of secretarial subjects.

 

Only this category of membership offers full voting rights and the opportunity to apply for AAPNZ's professional designations Associate and Fellow membership.

 

Affiliate (No voting rights):

Individuals who are overseas, retired, on leave of absence or geographically isolated. Application for affiliate membership is to be made to the National Executive Committee and will be awarded at the discretion of National Executive Committee.

 

Student (No voting rights):

Those individuals currently studying full time towards qualifications in the relevant administrative occupations or business management.

 

Corporate (No voting rights):

Organisations interested in the efficient functioning of administrative services. Each corporate membership shall be restricted to five people in any one Association location. If an organisation wishes to join more than five people, additional memberships may be applied for under any membership category.
