Structure

AAPNZ is incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908. The financial year of AAPNZ runs from 1 April to 31 March.

AAPNZ is administered by its members through the National Executive Committee (NEC) elected each year at AAPNZ’s Annual General Meeting. All officers at national and local group levels are subject to election by the membership. Under the structure provided, members are able to provide input and influence the direction of AAPNZ.

The day to day administration is carried out by NEC, which comprises the National president, National First Vice President, National Second Vice President and three Regional Representatives (Northern Leader, Central Leader and Southern Leader). An Executive Officer is employed part-time and is responsible for membership, secretarial and treasury functions.

The NEC, Group Committees and members must all operate within the framework laid down by the rules of AAPNZ, a copy of which is issued to each member on joining.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting is organised by the NEC. Each year it is held in a different city affording each Group the opportunity to host members attending.

Every member of AAPNZ is entitled to attend the meeting (full members having full voting rights in person or by proxy), which not only deals with the business of AAPNZ, but also offers members the opportunity to meet with each other and exchange ideas with members from other areas.
