Introducing Nelson Group
The Nelson Group of AAPNZ represents a wide range of industries (law firms, local government, tertiary and secondary schools, research, travel, engineering, accounting and contracting firms).
Any administrator, whether self-employed or working as part of a team, will ‘gain an edge’ from the ongoing training, upskilling and education that the association offers. Networking with other administrators is also a key benefit to members.
We meet once a month for a variety of social and educational group meetings and hold seminars and workshops throughout the year on topics of interest to its members. Our meetings alternate between Nelson and Richmond on the third Tuesday or Wednesday of each month from 5.30 - 6.00 pm social/refreshments and 6.00 - 7.30 pm for our guest speaker or workshop/presentation.
As well as increasing our knowledge, meetings provide an opportunity to gain new friendships with others who can appreciate our day-to-day challenges. Support, understanding and encouragement are essential ingredients of our group.
A fee of between $7 and $10 for members, and $10 and $15 for guests, is charged to cover the cost of the meeting, eg refreshments, venue, speaker’s gift. First-time guests may attend at no cost. Guests are welcome to attend three group meetings before deciding whether they’d like to become a member.
Members enjoy a variety of library items including international and national magazines, books, seminar/workshop material, cassettes and videos. Members receive a monthly group newsletter, which is published a week to ten days before each monthly meeting, providing details of guest speaker and venue.
