Administrators from all types of businesses in New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and even other parts of the world, join the Association of Administrative Professionals New Zealand Incorporated (AAPNZ Inc) for opportunities to learn and grow in their role, develop contacts and get a better understanding of how important their role is to any business.

Our membership includes executive assistants, personal assistants, administration managers, receptionists, call centre operators, accounts staff, school administrators, industry trainers, etc. – anyone involved either in full or part-time administrative professional roles, in any industry.

The Association of Administrative Professionals New Zealand Incorporated (AAPNZ Inc) is a not-for-profit, voluntary national association governed by a National Executive Team (NET) made up of the National President, two Vice-Presidents and the Regional Leaders for Northern, Central and Southern regions. The financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

Many people are making a career in administrative roles and the breadth of demands and skills required of these people is increasingly acknowledged by the public and employers.

With our rapidly changing office environment it is even more important these days to undertake professional development and stay in touch with your profession through its professional organisation. Whether it is a corporate entity, small or medium sized businesses or in the home-based office, many office professionals feel more isolated from others in similar roles. Members include recent newcomers to the profession through to experienced administrative professionals, male and female.

AAPNZ has a supportive local and national network who gives Administrative Professionals opportunities for personal and professional growth, career upskilling and development.

Our Patron is Lt Gen, Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General of New Zealand. IMNZ organisation is the Vice Patron role.

AAPNZ Inc and Certification 

AAPNZ Inc is the only administrative organisation in New Zealand offering an accreditation or registration pathway through its Certification process.  Certification provides an umbrella over four areas that need to be achieved to show the skills required by the administrative professional.  This makes it an invaluable benchmark for those in the role, and for employers.

Vice-Regal Patronage

Wendy Rapana, AAPNZ National President and Dianne Parker, Wellington Group President were invited to attend the Vice-Regal Patronage Reception at Government House in Wellington at 5.30pm on Tuesday 5 July 2016.  The invitation was from the Governor-General of New Zealand Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae and Lady Janine Mateparae.

It was a small group of about 150 representing the not-for-profit associations that they both support and a wonderful opportunity to say thank you face to face to the Governor-General for being our Patron for the past five years.

AAPNZ has submitted an application for continuing Vice-Regal Patronage as is the formal requirement whenever there is a change when the new Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy, takes on this amazing role.  We look forward to hearing good news hopefully.
